Hanna is a German artist based in Zurich whose work blurs the boundaries between painting, installation, and video. She studied painting at the Academy in Stuttgart and completed her Master’s in Fine Arts at the Zurich University of the Arts in 2024. Her practice explores the interplay between rational systems and dreamlike, feminine perspectives, creating a dialogue between structure and emotion.

Hanna works with unusually thin canvases, manipulating them into forms that transcend traditional painting. By stretching, layering, and suspending them within space, she transforms the canvases into installations that evoke both fragility and strength. These installations often incorporate video elements, which seamlessly fold back into the language of painting, merging the two mediums in unexpected ways.

Her process is deeply rooted in contrasts: embracing rationality while imbuing it with poetic, dreamlike qualities. This approach allows her to challenge perceptions of value, identity, and materiality while maintaining an intimate and visceral connection to her work.

Through her innovative techniques, Hanna invites viewers to engage with painting not as a static medium but as a dynamic, evolving form that exists in tension between the tangible and the ephemeral.
